Tracy Smith of HOMESpartnership is celebrating three major milestones this year; her 30th year since joining the industry, the companies 20th year of trading and the 10th anniversary of when she bought her boss out!

Company Director Tracy told us "My first role in estate agency was in 1980 as a secretary / sales negotiator for an estate agency in Horsham, moving to a large agency chain in Crawley in 1986. In 1991 we opened the doors of HOMESpartnership for the first time, known initially as simply 'HOMES' and in September 2000 I bought my boss out! I have made many changes to the business over the years including re-branding to HOMESpartnership in 2002 and the development of my mortgage business culminating in us joining Mortgage Advice Bureau at the end of last year.

It is purely coincidence how all three business milestones have been at 10 year intervals, but it's exciting to imagine what the next major milestone will be in 2020 – retirement perhaps! September is an extra special month this year, not only my 10th anniversary of buying the business, but also celebrating my 30th wedding anniversary……..which is quite an achievement bearing in mind my husband and I have worked together in the business for the past 10 years!"

Tracy went on to tell us "When the recession kicked in November 2007 no-one knew at the time that things would be quite so tough for quite so long, but throughout this time we have continued to sell property with realistic pricing, strong marketing and excellent customer service. There are always people that 'have' to move for work or financial reasons, those that 'need' to move for personal reasons and those who simply 'want' to move as a lifestyle choice. These buyers and sellers may be in lower numbers but they are still there and with the right advice anything is possible. We believe we have the experience, skills and knowledge needed in a tough market and we continue to offer free valuations and no lengthy contracts tying people in, our clients stay with us because they want to, not because they have to; we believe that is the key to our success."
