HP Announce Major Paralympic Sponsorship

We are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of Katie-George Dunlevy, our local Paralympic Champion!

 Katie-George Dunlevy

Earlier this year we attended the grand opening of Mortgage Advice Bureau’s mortgage shop here in Crawley, where Paralympic and World Champion Katie-George Dunlevy had the honour of cutting the ribbon.  We were truly inspired listening to her story and we decided there and then we would like to help Katie-George in her fundraising to support her training and competitions as she works towards the Paralympics in Tokyo 2020.

We wanted to know a little more about Katie-George and established that she lives in Gossops Green with her parents.  She was born in Crawley and grew up here, going away for college and university.  For a while she lived Maidenhead when her chosen sport was rowing, but she moved back to Crawley after the Rio Paralympics where, with her pilot Eve McCrystal, she came back with a Gold and Silver medal!  Katie-George and Eve are also current double World Champions and are very excited to be attempting to defend their titles at the World Championships next month!  Katie-George represents Ireland in all competitions as her father is from County Donegal; who knew we had such an inspirational sporting personality on our doorstep!

When we asked Katie-George what we could do to help, she told us that before Tokyo, to be in with the best possible chance of repeating her success with Eve, she needs a new tandem cycle, but they cost around £10,000.  So that is what we have decided to do!  To sponsor Katie-George monthly between now and Tokyo 2020, to follow her fantastic journey and to share her story with our local community.  We will post a monthly blog detailing all the trials and tribulations of being a Paralympic and World Champion cyclist and hope that you enjoy following her story as much as we will.
